EHS Coordinator (Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator)

 

Your new, team-based steel processing plant in Fairfield, Alabama has an exciting opportunity for an:

 

Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:  Utilize team skills (cooperation, coaching, strong communication, active listening) and technical abilities to facilitate the following activities:

· Continuously develop, oversee and maintain policies and procedures that support a safe and environmentally responsible environment

· Continuously develop and provide both regulatory and non-regulatory training pertaining to environment, health and safety

· Ensure compliance with all federal and state government regulations by defining and completing all regulatory responsibilities and maintaining functional relationships with regulatory personnel

· Investigate to root cause EHS incidents and facilitate the timely resolution of corrective actions

· Develop and lead collaborative team based safety programs and committees to drive EHS continuous improvement activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate degree in EHS or related field and a minimum of 3 years working in EHS in a manufacturing environment. Must be familiar with government compliance OSHA and EPA programs and reporting. Must have strong PC skills. Ability to generate technical reports, documentation, procedures and correspondence.  Desirable to have certification in Hazwoper and DOT. Knowledge of equipment safety requirements such as guarding and lock-out/tag-out procedures.  Strong written and verbal communication skills and leadership skills such as initiative, motivation, anticipation, and the ability to work in a team environment.
