Pier 400 at the Port of Los Angeles is the new standard for efficient container terminal operations in North America, and the largest proprietary container terminal in the world. Right now, we’re seeking an experienced security professional to ensure that Pier 400 meets all security and compliance standards as set by both corporate and federal policy.

 

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for actively managing the Security Department to ensure the safe flow of cargo throughout the terminal without incidents or accidents. This will involve developing a security plan that meets all federal, state, city and company mandates (as well as bargaining unit contract requirements); interacting and promoting effective relationships with the law enforcement community at the local, state and federal levels, and managing security staffing levels to meet operational and cost requirements. You’ll also work closely with Corporate Security and local management in the areas of integrity, fraud and other security issues, and assist the Safety Manager with accident investigations.

 

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s degree; professional accreditation; and a minimum of 4 years of security, law enforcement or military command experience. Candidates must be proficient in MS Office applications and have excellent interpersonal, communication and team-building skills. Strong organizational, managerial and administrative abilities are essential.
