Web Designer

Tucson Newspapers, the business agency for the Arizona Daily Star and The Tucson Citizen, has an immediate opening for a Web designer.  This position will work on the web sites for the two newspapers and Tucson Newspapers to include:www.azstarnet.comwww.tucsoncitizen.comwww.tucson.com

 

Web Designer responsibilities include:Meeting with departments, from newsroom to advertising, to incorporate design into their websites or products.Meeting with online designers and working closely with senior programmers.Perform creative services and production for Web-based and multimedia products, including interface design.Prepares advertising materials for online usage, including use of special effects, color, animation, etc.

 

The successful candidate will:Two years of online advertising/design studio/publishing experience preferred.CSS, HTML, DHTML, XHTML, Javascript preferred.Illustrator, Photoshop, BBEdit (or equivalent), QuarkXpress or inDesign.Flash, video production and Open Ad Stream preferred.Be able to communicate with employees with less technical experience.Be able to work flexible hours.

A candidate with a 4-year degree in Computer Science or design preferred.
