Spot Runner is based in Los Angeles, CA.The Database Developer will: create and update data models and meta data repository; design schemas and develop other database objects according to requirements; provide consulting to application and junior database developers during design phase; create database and documentation for testing in isolated test database and deployment to production environment; perform code review among peers and junior developers in the group prior to releasing to test environment. ResponsibilitiesGather requirements before beginning database development to ensure thorough understanding of problems being solved. Work with Business Systems Analysts (BSA) and other technical areas to determine feasibility, level of effort, timing, scheduling, and other related aspects of project proposals and planningDemonstrate the ability to prioritize efforts in a rapidly changing and dynamic environmentDocument requirements to transfer knowledge to IT personnel and approval by stakeholders before development begins. Create and update data models with appropriate tools prior to deployment to development environment. Develop and modify database objects in accordance with gathered requirements. Create patches from development environment to be applied to test and production databases. Perform appropriate Testing to database components, in QA, Development and Production environments. Review objects developed by peers in data management group to ensure objects adhere to development standards and service level agreements. Encourage junior personnel learning through workload sharing. Provide growth estimates of new tables/indexes to Data Management Team. Perform Query optimizations and Assist Application developers with their database needs. Manage individual projects. Excel in a fast paced, rapid development environment.Other projects and duties as required. Requirements 5+ years experience in developing Microsoft SQL Server database objects.4+ years with database architecture and schema design. using Tools like Erwin, Visio.2 years of experience administering SQL Server databases Experience in multi-tier architecture environment required. Understanding of relational database theory and management system required. Thorough understanding of SQL server architecture Ability to handle multiple tasks.
