The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Expert will provide SEO expertise for all of Business.com’s product initiatives. Utilizing your understanding of search engines and user search behavior, you will identify and implement improvements to increase organic search listings and rankings, thus driving increased traffic to the web site.  You will keep pace with best-of-breed traffic optimization practices, building a team of employees as necessary to accomplish the objective.



Our SEO Expert should be familiar with state-of-the-art SEO Practices and use that knowledge to maximize traffic yield and will take responsibility for establishing, communicating and implementing best practices for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy.



As our SEO Expert, you will work with other departments to develop and deliver product specific reports to facilitate understanding of user behavior and effects of changes, while maintaining comparisons against industry-wide trend analysis.



Responsibilities

• Development and execution of SEO strategy

• Reporting and analytics for the SEO activities and for management review

• Leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of SEO and online traffic building.

• Must be proactive in identifying and executing against opportunities to increase traffic and revenue through SEO

• Hands-on optimization work, including page construction, site architecture, content, keyword research and SEO copywriting

• Work with detailed site analyses, reviewing statistical data regularly and re-working those areas that show opportunities for improvement.

• Responsible for understanding the best practices and industry standards for search engine optimization and search engine marketing.

• Research, identify and establish link partners for our sites and for internal linking strategies in conjunction with the Marketing team

• Assist in the development of a team to ensure ongoing SEO enhancements



Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years work experience with SEO projects and data analysis.

• Hands-on experience with search engine optimization projects and a proven track record of bringing in cost-effective results from the major search engines.

• Experience with SEO keyword research and development

• Knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies

• Familiarity with developing, maintaining and optimizing large dynamically generated sites

• Ability to interpret and analyze traffic log files from a web server is a plus

• Familiarity with SQL is a plus, proficiency with MS Excel

• Proficiency in SEO reporting and analytical tools

• Familiarity with common measures of web activity such as page views, visits, etc. is a requirement.

• Detail oriented, self-starting individual.

• Strong communication and analytic skills.

• Working knowledge of basic Internet technology (HTML, CSS)
