Description:
Position Responsibilities:
* Under general direction, accepts, declines or modifies new and renewal submissions of Global Energy lines submitted by brokers;
* Understands the coverages afforded by the form and can explain the exposures to loss assumed and restricted by the insuring agreements and the exclusions;
* Identifies exposures and understands the appropriate questions to ask and analysis required to underwrite the designated Global Energy line;
* Understand how a company is performing relative to its peers, and have an understanding on the future prospects of the company and its industry group;
* Analyze the risks associated with different Industry Group segments;
* Review claims history and identifies loss experience;
* Either independently, or in consultation with Team Leader, prepares pricing and negotiation strategy and negotiates coverages and price with producers consistent with the quality of the risk and company strategy;
* Develop and build relationships with producers and make independent calls to brokers to market products;
* Organize and prioritize risks and effectively communicate information needs to the broker with emphasis on building relationships.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques;
* May be learning one or more specialty coverages through training classes or working closely with supervisor;
* Exceptional communication (written and verbal), organizational, customer service and negotiation skills;
* Up to 5 + years underwriting experience.
