This is a field-based position in the Southern United States. Its purpose is to proactively market and grow our Flood Insurance business in assigned territory. This position requires that the marketing Territory Manager seek out opportunities within the flood insurance market by identifying and establishing business relationships and market credibility with key decision makers in other organizations. Territory includes Mississippi, Alabama, and Northern Florida.
•Ensure the achievement of growth, profitability, and service goals for Flood programs for assigned territory.
•Travel throughout assigned territory at least two weeks per month; engage in daily phone contact with agents and potential leads during non-travel weeks.
•Research, identify, and appoint appropriate independent agents, outside of our existing agency force, for the sole purpose of selling our Flood Service Programs.
•Research, identify, develop and manage our Selective agents for the purpose of selling our Flood Service Programs.
•Develop and manage marketing strategies that promote the profitable growth of the Flood business, including participating in the development of automated enhancements to Flood systems to ensure risk quality, profitability, and ease of processing.
•Establish and maintain strong relationships with the internal and field Flood staff, while successfully interacting with internal customers. Also represent Selective externally; i.e.; participation and attendance at conventions, conferences, association gatherings, etc.
•Participate in quality assessments to evaluate risk quality and pricing; utilize monitoring tools (such as reports and scorecards) for quality assurance; provide marketing support, including development of brochures and handouts, agency visitations and participation in promotional meetings.
•Maintain effective procedures, controls and service standards in accordance with Company guidelines.
•Research, develop, and maintain strong working knowledge of Flood business segments, including competitors; trends in the industry, region, and technology; pricing and products; and the needs of consumers to ensure the competitive advantages of our Flood programs.
Required Skills:
Required:
•Demonstrated expertise in sales and marketing (at least 3 recent years in sales and/or sales management experience).
•Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work, use negotiation skills effectively
•Proven ability to deliver superior customer service
•Superior communication skills (verbal, written, public speaking and presentation)
•Progressive underwriting experience, preferably field-based (knowledge of flood business a plus)
•Ability to work with minimal supervision which is evidenced by excellent organizational skills, commitment to achievement of business goals and a strong work ethic.
•Excellent PC/automation skills, including Microsoft Office Suites.
•Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing with DMV
•Able and willing to travel up to 50-60% (including some overnight travel)
Preferred:
•Related property & casualty sales experience (preferably flood related), related sales experience or bachelor's degree in marketing.
•Related National Flood Insurance knowledge or related experience
