Desk Appraiser (Phoenix, AZ - East Valley)

Summary: Responsible for material damage audits within a claims branch covering a multi-state area.



Job Responsibilities:


Review estimates of repair




Identify old, inconsistent, and/or overlapping damage, including excessive repair times and adjust



estimates accordingly


Ensure proper parts usage per established company and industry guidelines and that labor rates



 are consistent with agreements or prevailing rates in the area


Reach agreed prices and completion dates with repair facilities on estimates reviewed




Provide reports as needed




Review subrogation documents submitted and make recommendations for resolution




Ensure compliance with state laws and regulations





 

Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience is required




Minimum of two years auto appraisal experience is required




I-CAR certification preferred




Previous personal auto claims and/or repair experience preferred




Strong interpersonal, organizational, & communication skills




Ability to pass written Claims Representative licensing examinations where applicable




Experience in using an automated appraisal system such as CCC, Mitchell, or ADP
