McGriff, Seibels and Williams, Inc. is a commercial insurance broker, whose roots can be traced back to 1886.  The company was founded in Birmingham, Alabama, which continues to be the corporate headquarters. We are currently seeking a Premium Accounting Bookkeeper for our Birmingham location. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with experience in company payables.  The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, bonus program and excellent benefits, including  a 401(K) plan, health, dental, vision  and other benefits.

 

Job Purpose:

Assist Supervisor and Bookkeepers in servicing of all business.



 

Duties:

*Pay carriers according to Agency Agreement and research items on Open Company Payable Report.

*Enter discrepancies in the order system on a timely basis.

*Utilize the “Order Report” distributed weekly and clear orders responded to on a timely basis. 

*Establish and maintain a good business relationship with all clients and company personnel.

*Provide general assistance to all team members. 

 



Skills/Qualifications:

*Excellent computer skills.

*Working knowledge of Rumba and network software helpful. 

*Must have communication and organizational skills, cooperative nature and tactfulness.

*Discretion needed to make routine decisions and prioritize work according to normal, established policies, practices and procedures of MSW.
