Individual will work on the Access Team. Requires experience with and knowledge of large scale LAN/WAN networks. Individual will work in a Communication Control Center and will remotely manage network security devices in U.S. Government data centers. Primary role will be that of a security specialist managing multiple vendor, perimeter and enclave firewalls to allow authorized and prevent unauthorized access to enterprise network environments per mandated security policies. Responsibilities include configuring and updating Firewall Access Control List (ACLs), Security Policies, Network Objects, etc. Review system logs (syslog), Protocol Analyzers, and other network tools to analyze and interpret data to verify/troubleshoot authorized access. Additional responsibilities include management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of UNIX and Microsoft Domain Name Systems (DNS). Manage and issue IP addresses/subnet masks. Personnel may also be required to configure Virtual Private Network (VPN) site-to-site and client-to-site tunnels. Skills, education, and experience: Firewalls: Cisco PIX (520,525,535 and the Firewall Services Module), Secure Computing Sidewinder (5.x and 6.x), and the Inkra (VSS and CPS); Routers: Cisco 3600, 7200 and 7500 Routers, Juniper M20, M40 (JUNOS) routers; VPNs: Cisco 3015, 3030, 3600, 7140 concentrators, Sidewinder and Cisco PIX firewalls; LAN Switching: Cisco 2900, 3500, 4000, 4500, 6500 (IOS / CatOS) and Foundry Fast Iron 400 switches. Content Switching: Cisco CSS 11506/11054/11051, SCA 11000, GSS 44xx and F5 BIGIP / 3DNS; Network Management: Cisco TACACS/RADIUS ACS application, HP Openview Network Node Manager (NNM), Lantronix and Multi Router Traffic Generator (MRTG). Person must have a solid understanding of Open System Interconnection (OSI Model) for the purpose of performing end-to-end troubleshooting. efficiency in the use of System Loggers (Syslogs) and other available tools in the collection, analyzing and interpretation of data captures so as to resolve connectivity issues.
Qualifications
Must have an active or interim Secret clearance or higher. Also, a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
