Programmer

This could be your big break!  Movie Gallery, the nation’s second largest video chain, is looking for a Programmer in our Dothan, AL headquarters to help us achieve our mission of establishing Movie Gallery as the premiere provider of entertainment products. 

 

Job Summary:

The Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting corporate and field applications.Minimum Job Requirements

· B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent expertise

· 3 years Visual Basic .NET development experience

· 3 years OOP experience

· 1 year ADO.NET development for SQL Server 2000 or higher

· Working knowledge of SDLCs including MSF

· Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly

· Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them

· Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnelDesiredMCSD or other Microsoft-based development centric certificationsExperience programming stored procedures and triggers for SQL Server 2000 or higherExperience with SQL Server 2005 ExpressRetail development experience - primarily on point of sale systemsExperience with OOD using UMLExperience with writing unit tests and testable codeExperience with XML and XSLT
