Development Requirements Analyst

Software Technology, Inc., a leading provider of education data management solutions to the K-12 market, is seeking a Development Requirements Analyst.

 Description

 

The Development Requirements Analyst’s role will collect, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs for the development process. The Development Requirements Analyst should exhibit knowledge of emerging industry practices, apply proven communication, and analytical/problem-solving skills to help support the development process. The Development Requirements Analyst should be able to quickly understand the business issues and data challenges of the organization.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

 Create process models, specifications, diagrams, work flow story boards, and use case scenarios to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.Collaborate with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for technical and business suitability.Work closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical capability and user satisfaction.Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specifications.Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally and through written documentation to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.Establish practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the requirements process.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that utilize the Software Development Life CycleProven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, modeling, verification, and methodology development.Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.Working knowledge of relational databases and various querying methods that may be utilized in developing solutions

 

 Education/Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field. A minimum of 5 years experience in information processing with emphasis on system design and analysis. A working knowledge of one or more high level programming languages, software principles, and a proven ability to interface effectively with users is essential. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
