SR. HR GENERALIST

POSITION PROFILE
The Human Resources Generalist administers human resources polices and programs in the following functional areas: recruiting and staffing, employee orientation, performance appraisals, compensation, Affirmative Action Plans, unemployment, workers' compensation and other similar areas. Supports a metro area with greater than one customer group, or a rural area with greater than one branch and/or an area with greater than one customer group; total employees supported at 350+ and managers supported at 35. Primary customer is a Marketplace VP & General Manager (more than 300+ employees) or department management (if less than 300 employees).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is highly visible and is the employee's first point of contact for HR-related concerns.
Proactively identifies and communicates employee issues that impact the territory's ability to meet business objectives.
Assists line managers in developing skills to manage human resources more effectively through modeling, coaching, instruction and training.
Provides ongoing feedback to Senior/HR Manager to assist in policy creation.
Participates in projects as assigned by the Senior/HR Manager.
Operates under the organization's Code of Ethics.
Performs recruitment activities such as the development of advertisements, screening of candidates and conduct of interviews for select positions. Maintains records of the same.
Monitors unemployment claims and assists line managers with appeals.
Monitors workers' compensation claims and coordinates between the employee and insurance carrier.
Ensures local compliance with federal, state and local employment laws. Gathers information annually for Affirmative Action Plans and the filing of EEO-1 and VETS 100 Reports.
Rolls out all IKON-wide HR programs such as One Plus Updates, open enrollment, Code of Ethics, Service Award Program, Employee Survey and other similar programs.
Conducts/coordinates monthly employee orientations.
Assists line managers with performance appraisals; tracks due dates for the territory and reports on outstanding performance appraisals by manager.
Conducts/maintains exit interview database.
Facilitates collaborative problem solving strategies to resolve employee relations issues through effective communication with all levels of employees.
Ensures proper and consistent salary administration throughout the territory through frequent analysis of salary increases. Reports increases that are appear to be outside of established guidelines and any possible wage and hour compliance issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS)
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Five years overall Human Resource experience required. Three years experience at current Human Resource level.
Must have a proven track record of human resource experience at a generalist level.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
Must have a proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers, supporting more than 350 employees and up to 35 managers. Working in a sales reps and managers a plus
