Human Resource Development Specialist

The Arc of Anchorage is seeking an HR Development Specialist to be a part our HR team. The selected candidate will be responsible for all facets of human resource development to include orientation, training, employee development, career planning, and performance appraisals. The HR Development Specialist will work closely with the HR Director and the Leadership Team and will ensure the knowledge, skills, abilities and performance of employees meets the needs of the agency both today and in the future. Other duties will include establishing an orientation system for new employees; designing a training system that includes assessment, implementation and evaluation; work closely with the HR Director to identify agency HR needs; identify career paths for individuals as they develop within the agency; and develop and implement a performance management system that evaluates how well employees do in their jobs and provides information to produce outcomes such as productivity, advancement, and discipline. On a regular and continuous basis, the HR Development Specialist exercises judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area.

Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum of two years experience in design and implementation of training programs. PHR/SPHR preferred. Valid AK driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, background clearance and current TB test required. Skill in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
