Director/RL-Human Resources, People Leaders

This position manages a small geographically focused team responsible for day to day consultation advice and guidance to front line supervisors and service delivery leaders. Additionally the position is accountable for being a channel for employee advocacy. The position has direct impact on the employee experience, retention and engagement metrics, and the effectiveness of front line team leaders. Responsibilities include:
Builds relationships either directly or through team members with front line leaders €" ensures consistent and visible presence. Provides day to day consultation, advice and guidance and influences team leader behavior and actions. Involves employee relations on a topic specific basis or to assist in €śdeep dive€? investigations.
Identifies existing forums or processes (or initiates them) to allow the team to be an effective listening post for employee concerns/feedback/requirements. May be a channel of contact for individual employees but provides escalation to employee relations on cases requiring in depth investigation.
Manages relationships with employee networks within the Center and is the key link with the AXP Diversity team on center specific topics.
Identifies priority emerging themes and harnesses own team or wider HR resources to close gaps. Partners with counterparts in other centers through regular touch-base team calls to share experiences, identify cross SDN issues, stay aligned on cross SDN processes, evolve standard MIS metrics etc.
Leads, motivates and develops a small team of specialists. Hosts regular team meetings to include the site employee relations person to discuss €śnoise€? and plan best use of resources.
Works in partnership with employee relations and compensation to ensure that SDN policies and procedures and compensation plans (particularly variable pay plans) are reviewed and approved by appropriate parties. Ensures early involvement of specialists if legitimate new needs emerge.
Provides oversight for employee engagement activities within the center and ensures appropriate focus on priority units.
Manages the talent assessment process for band 35 and below working. Uses outcomes to help inform SDN curriculum needs being driven by the Talent Development team
Manages the on-boarding/off-boarding processes for the center

8+ years of solid HR experience
Broad HR experience to provide holistic solutions (compensation, performance, attraction, development, retention) to the business.
Good relationship skills to build credibility and gravitas with the business
Ability to relate to a broad associate population
Ability to challenge and say €śno€? to the business
Project management skills to ensure multiple processes are managed well
Analytical and interpretative skills to assess and measure trends and themes
ER knowledge to understand compliance watch outs
