Front Services Captain

Essential Functions: Responsible for supervision of the Front Service area

Supervise the daily activities of the bell person, including the delivery of arrival and departure baggage.

Ensure delivery of all items to guest suites accurately and promptly. (Messages, newspaper, packages, flowers, etc.)

Provide knowledge of all resort services and facilities of the resort.

Give accurate information about parking cars.

Keep inside and outside lobby areas clean and orderly. Keep work area clean.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based upon the needs of the resort.

• Anticipate the needs of the guests.
• Perform Bell Person job responsibilities as needed.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Ability to treat each guest with respect and professionalism. Individuals must posses and demonstrate the ability to interact with all guests, internal and external, effectively with tact and diplomacy in line with property service standards.
• Ability to operate a bell cart.
• Ability to perform all bell person’s essential functions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to read English language to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage weighing up to 70lbs. continuously throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform the essential job functions.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage.
• Considerable knowledge of city and surrounding areas.
• Ability to perform work according to Standards.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

EXPERIENCE: Prior resort bell desk experience required.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES: Current and Valid Driver’s License. Clean driving record required. License checks will be conducted periodically.

APPEARANCE: Highly professional appearance, ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific standards are available.
