Outpatient Registration Representative (5620)

Job Description: Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for an Outpatient Registration Representative to join our team inFlagstaff, AZ.

Job Responsibilities:
The Registration Representative 1 performs registration of patients including interviewing and preparation of forms for all types of service including inpatient, observation, outpatient, and emergency services. He/she provides preliminary patient financial education which includes referrals to appropriate outside agencies (i.e. AHCCCS) and collects payments for services as appropriate. Ensures pre-certification/authorization and/or benefit information for designated services has been obtained. He/She uses their customer service skills, technical skills and knowledge to accurately register and obtain all related demographic information for all patient service types. He/she must follow all established departmental policies and procedures.

Able to relate and work with ill and disabled patients and their families, hospital personnel and co-workers in a kind and caring manner.
Ability to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.
Ability to deal with high stress and high demands.
Ability to cope with varying and unpredictable situations tactfully.
Ability to respond to emergency and crisis situations in a timely and professional manner.
Call Required: YES Depending on unit assigned, if YES must be able to respond to the hospital within 20 minutes

Physical, Sensory, Environmental Qualifications:
Possess visual and hearing acuity - Required
Prolonged extensive, or considerable, standing, walking, sitting - Required

Desired Skills:

Experience in a health care environment.
