Case Manager-Behavioral Health

Purpose of this position is to perform duties to authorize and review utilization of mental health and substance abuse services provided in in-patient and intermediate care settings, provide and/or review intakes and initial evaluations, brief focused treatment interventions, monitor quality of care, collect and analyze utilization and cost of care data, assist with discharge planning, arrange transportation; provide member assistance and participate in special utilization projects. 

Must have LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PhD, or RN license in Arizona, with experience in psychiatric and/or substance abuse health care settings including utilization review.  Knowledge of utilization review procedures, and familiarity with mental health and substance abuse community resources and RBHA network providers preferred.  Compatibility with recovery philosophy of treatment.

Skills/Competencies: Apply principals of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Perform basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure.  Compute ratio, rate and percent.  Draw and interpret bar graphs.  Perform reading, writing and speaking at a professional level, demonstrating good oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to details.  Ability to use computer systems for the management of medical information.  Excellent project manager skills.
