We have opportunities available for Mammography Technologists in our busy radiology department. Here you’ll find both film-screen and full-field digital mammography using Siemens 3000 film screen and GE Senographe digital units. We also perform stereotactic core biopsies and have installed CAD systems to interpret both film-screen and digital images. Additionally, we have an ultrasound unit in the center that is staffed by an ARDMS sonographer.

 

As a Mammography Technologist at VM, your responsibilities will include providing patient’s with mammographic procedures including the application of prescribed ionizing radiation and administering contrast agents/medications for radiological diagnosis. Will also be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance in the downtown clinic and for overseeing the Quality Assurance programs at our satellite facilities.

Must have Washington State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist and be certified by ARRT including mammography. A minimum of one year experience in Diagnostic Radiology (or two years at VM as a student tech) and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must have a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage stressful situations appropriately and the ability to attend to multiple tasks and work independently. Two years of experience in mammography preferred.
