CT Technologist - Per Diem

Responsibilities: Performs a variety of technical and patient care procedures that require independent judgment utilizing a multi-slice CT scanner. Utilizes power injectors and monitoring equipment. Starts IVs and administers IV, oral, or rectal contrast at the direction of the physician onsite. Provides exemplary customer service. Participates and is engaged in a team framework and maintains a positive approach and attitude.

Education: Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology program.

Licensure/Certification: Washington State Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic license required. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  Advanced registry in CT preferred.

Experience and Skills:  Minimum of two years experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with one-year experience in a CT Scan department preferred.

Possesses complete understanding of the use of multi-slice CT scanner and applications as well as PACS (if applicable to the department) and related computer applications.  Knowledgeable of both the use of imaging equipment and human anatomy to accurately produce diagnostic images.

The CT Scan Technologist must possess the ability to use initiative and ingenuity in the performance of CT procedures. Possesses complete understanding of the multi-slice CT scan applications, demonstrating the ability to accurately provide diagnostic images and related functions, i.e. starting IVs, maintenance of IV lines, injector protocols, etc.  Demonstrates knowledge of and application of radiation safety.  Possesses the ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written communication.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, and other employees of the organization; and ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Possesses the ability to perform basic mathematical computations, and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Must maintain CPR certification and attend applicable hospital inservices.
