Assistant Imaging Supervisor

PURPOSE : Under the supervision of the Imaging Services Supervisor, provides guidance to staff and, assist QC Lead Technologists with quality control measures.

This position upholds Kaiser Permanente’s policies and procedures, the Principles of Responsibility, accreditation standards (if applicable), and applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.

Accountabilities: Plans and communicates work schedules of technologist and support staff.
Responsible for the accuracy and quality of technical staff work.
Reviews quality reports submitted by QC Lead Technologists.
Obtains necessary stock equipment and materials to perform procedures; maintains stock equipment.
Assists the supervisor with developing new techniques and procedures upon request from radiologist and/or referring physicians.
Instructs and trains other technologist to perform new procedures. Works with the supervisor and QC technologist to prepare written guidelines, techniques and charts for use by other technologists.
Assists the supervisor with overseeing the proper maintenance of the radiographic equipment and accessories such as cassettes, intensifying screens, etc. Performs frequent checks to ensure that items are in good working condition; reports status to the supervisor.
Acts as liaison between physicians, staff, and radiologist in the absence of the supervisor.
Receives and follows through on physician complaints regarding quality of films or problems with staff in absence of supervisor.
Submits weekly and monthly statistical reports to Supervisor.
Performs KRONOS functions.
Collects and maintains staff credentialing and CME files.
Performs other duties as directed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – Relevant Years of Experience:
Five years experience as a radiology technologist with ARRT status of which three years must be in a leadership role.
Must have full knowledge of most aspects of diagnostic imaging equipment and a working knowledge of quality control procedures for diagnostic radiology.

Education and/or Classes:
High School diploma or equivalent.
AA degree preferred.

License, Certification and/or Designation:
N/A
