Pharmacist

Position Summary:

 

The Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical services within the hospital that has a patient population ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, general medical-surgical conditions, with rehabilitation and/or wound care needs.  Responsible for implementation of safe medication management processes including selection and procurement, storage, ordering and transcribing, preparing and dispensing, administering and monitoring.  The Pharmacist ensures that the pharmacy complies with all state certifications and regulations, Medicare and federal regulations and maintains JCAHO accreditation.  as well as compliance with  all applicable policies, procedures, and standards of the hospital.

  Minimum Qualifications:

 

§ Ability to project a professional image.

§ Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

§ Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.

§ Strong organizational and analytical skills.

§ Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)

§ Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.

§ Freedom from illegal use of drugs.

§ Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

 

  Education and/or Experience: 

 

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Hospital Pharmacy Administration or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

 

  Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

 

Current Pharmacist license in good standing for the state of employment.  Must maintain current BLS certification through employment.
