Reports to:  Pharmacy Manager and/or Pharmacy District Manager

 

Job Purpose:

 

To accurately fill prescriptions for customers; to consult and advise the customers on their medication (prescription and non-prescription drugs) to provide for their total well-being. 

 

Initial Minimum Qualifications:

 

1. Able to read, write and speak English proficiently.

2. Able to understand and follow English instructions.

3. Pharmacist Degree required.

4. Must be certified and a licensed pharmacist in the state.

5. Previous experience as a Pharmacist preferred.

6. Strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

 

Primary  (Essential) Job Functions:

1. Greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.

2. Maintain knowledge of latest pharmacy products and all governing laws.

3. Fill prescriptions for customers.

4. Consult with customers about medication.

5. Prepare labels for prescriptions.

6. Maintain current and accurate computer files on prices and products.

7. Record into computer prescription/patient instructions.

8. Telephone communication with doctors/patients.

9. Order, receive, stock, and rotate drugs and authorized pharmacy related items.

10. Check inventory and remove out-of-date drugs.

11. Handle third party and insurance forms.

12. Keep records of controlled substances.

13. Keep sales and work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report hazards to management.

14. Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.

15. Able to operate department equipment and tools.

 

Secondary Job Functions:

 

1. Stock bottles and vials.

2. Order bags, vials, and supplies.

3. Properly record sales through the scanning system.

4. Maintain reference books.

5. Possess knowledge of health referrals and exercise/diet referrals.

6. Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude.

7. Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, or property defacement.

8. Other duties as assigned by management.
