CLINICAL MANAGER CORPUS CHRISTI MEDICAL CENTER Great opportunity at a highly regarded Medical Center. The Clincal Program Manager will support two hospitals that are part of the Corpus Christi Medical Center, Bay Area Medical Center and Doctors Regional.
Bay Area, with 224 beds, is a full-service, acute care hospital and an adjacent three-story medical office building. Providing an extensive range of healthcare services, the hospital has specialized areas including a 24-hour emergency room, neonatal intensive care unit, The Breast Center of South Texas, a one-stop center for complete breast health; a new orthopedics unit dedicated to reconstructive knee and hip surgery; and a complete Women's Services department with gynecological surgery, state-of-the-art childbirthing suites and comprehensive nursery services. Housed within the facility are Corpus Christi Bay Area Surgery, a full-service ambulatory surgery center, and a medical education residency clinic. Adjacent to Bay Area is the Corpus Christi Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility with comprehensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities including radiation therapy. The Pharmacy is centralized with OR Satellite ; Robot Cart fill from DRMC.
Doctors, a 270+ bed facility, offers a full-service acute care hospital including inpatient and outpatient services, a 24-hour emergency room, state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab and a neuroscience program offering Stereotactic procedures for non-invasive brain surgeries. The Pharmacy is centralized Robot Cart fill for DRMC & Bay Area.
This Clinical Program Manager is responsible for leading clinical pharmacy programs and services at the site level. The Clinical Program Manager will also
oServe as a clinical resource for the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services at the site level
oCoordinate all activities related to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee (or equivalent) and for formulary management
oBuild effective relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments within the hospital and company.
oPromote clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care through the development of new (or expansion of existing) pharmacy practice programs, drug therapy policies, and other programs
Education/Experience
We are looking for candidates who have experience in clinical programs in an acute care pharmacy setting.
oB.S. or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy and current pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
oCompletion of a 1-year pharmacy practice residency, specialty residency, and/or fellowship, or at least 3 years of pharmacy experience is strongly preferred
oCertification by Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties is strongly preferred
oExperience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet software, and pharmacy information systems is required
Knowledge/Skills
oThorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services
oKnowledgeable and proficient in assessing the use and application of new medications and medication technology, including complex equipment and delivery systems
oEffective verbal and written communication skills are required
oAbility to effectively participate on an interdisciplinary team or committee
oKnowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics
oDemonstrated ability to lead a team of pharmacists and other health care professionals to review, develop, implement and monitor clinical programs, therapeutic initiatives and other drug use policies and practices
oProblem solving ability and analytical thinking required
