HIMS Coder - Per Diem

Overview : This position evaluates medical records and assigns appropriate clinical diagnoses and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines for the development of system wide database and submission of hospital claims.

Qualifications :

Minimum of 1-year experience as a coder is preferred. Coding credentials from either AHIMA or AAPC strongly preferred. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding principles, coding software, and the recommended American Health Information Association coding competencies. Must be familiar with pharmacologic agents. Effective human relations skills are required for interacting with all levels of hospital staff, physicians, and other contacts. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills.
