END Technologist

Overview : Per Diem Day shift END Technologist position.
Primarily for call and weekend assistance.

Responsibilities :

This position is responsible for the performance of electroneurodiagnostic testing procedures including Electroencephalograms (EEG's), Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP's), Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP's), Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials (BAEP's) in accordance with the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) guidelines and departmental/hospital policies and utilizing the skills necessary to assure quality care of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. Service Excellence is demonstrated by consistently exhibiting the Banner Health System (BHS) Service Standards in the performance of this job.

Qualifications :

Digital EEG acquisition required.
Knowledge of ASET guidelines required.
BCLS required.
Computer skills - MS office products, fax preferred.
High school graduate is required. Associate of Arts in Biomedical Technology or related field is preferred, particularly with emphasis in Electroneurodiagnostics. Registration in Electroencephalography with the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) is required. Two years of clinical experience in EEG and Evoked Potentials is required. Additional credentialing (R.EP T. or CNIM) as well as intra-operative monitoring experience is preferred. Knowledge of basic mathematical skills is necessary to apply the International 10-20 system of EEG electrode placement, as well as calculating nerve velocities.
