Job Purpose:

Tests and measures eye function to assist Ophthalmologist to diagnose and treat eye disorders and desease. 

 

General Job Duties:

*  Performs ocular screening examinations, refractions, and visual acuity testing

 

*Basic Ophthalmic skills and lensometry, instrument care and maintenance

 

*Obtains ophthalmic, medical, medication, allergy, and family histories of patients

 

*  Examines anterior segment for abnormalities and checks angles

 

*  Instills drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes

 

*  Instructs patients on contact lens insertion and removeal, care and cleaning

 

*  Works as a team to provide cost-effective quality care and customer service
