Quality Initiatives Manager
Description
Department: Healthcare Informatics
Purpose: Overseeing and managing operation and coordination of the Quality Improvement processes and performance initiatives, including: HEDIS measurements and reporting functions, audit regulatory compliance, validation processes, and the delivery of healthcare informatics services to SCAN internal departments and its related external agencies.
Responsibilities:
Defines, develops, organizes and communicate analytical plans to support Quality Initiatives processes and the implementation of CCQI (Chronic Care Quality Improvement) projects by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information & trends, and by providing consultancy to research projects and recommending actions.
Manages projects, people, and customers' expectations by holding primary responsibilities of performing and developing HEDIS and Quality Improvement measures, preparatory documents required for auditors, oversight agencies, and by using SCAN database and member information.
Effectively manages internal and external communications by collaborating and disseminating research findings with internal and external parties and clarifying business requests and formulating them into analytical measures to meet the business needs.
Provides summary analysis on various quality measures and health education by planning, collecting and analyzing proper sources of data, and by writing SAS and SQL code to extract appropriate data sets.
Assists the Director of Geriatrics Research and the Informatics Department by performing research, maintaining project schedule, monitoring program progress, managing staff, and by maintaining and complying with regulatory requirements in collaboration with the compliance department.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing and contributing to professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Master degree in social, behavioral, health science, public health or related areas with a minimum of 3 years experience in health care industry (PhD in health science analysis preferred). Strong Excel and SQL skill and database knowledge, as well as Solid skills in applied research methodology and advanced analytics is required. Experience working with clinical survey is an advantage.
