The Senior Medical Director, Clinical Strategy is a physician who is an integral part of the Business Development Team. The primary focus of this individual is to leverage Health Solutions Group, SCS and UHG capabilities to formulate tailored clinical solutions for key customer opportunities. This individual will be involved with key opportunities throughout the sales process and will be accountable to the designing a clinical value story for each customer that describes a seamless integrated consumer experience and uses clinical, financial, and operational data to translated the story into a compelling value proposition that addresses the strategies, goals and objectives of the customer. The goals of the Senior Medical Director are aligned with Health Solutions Group sales targets.
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed working knowledge of Health Solutions Group's clinical capabilities.
Achieve solid understanding of the value proposition, ROI models, pricing models, and analytic underpinnings of Health Solutions Group and SCS clinical capabilities.
Collaborate with Products, Clinical Programs, and Analytics to continually enhance value proposition and proof points.
Establish a working relationship with sales and client management teams. Partner with sales and client management to develop clinical strategy designed to win/retain revenue opportunities.
Take "clinical ownership" of Health Solutions Group's pipeline opportunities for sales/upsells. Prioritize time/resources to opportunities that will benefit from clinical strategy development. Provide clinical ownership of SCS opportunities as assigned
Help develop a formal process for requesting pre-sale analytics from the Health Care Analytics team. Be responsible for developing strategic focus of each analytics request with defined questions/areas of analysis. Oversee the translation of data from pre-sales analytics into meaningful information for the customer.
Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to clinical and non-clinical members of Health Solutions Group during preparation for customer meetings. Interface directly with customers in sales and finalist presentations, site visits and strategic customer meetings
Direct oversight and management responsibility for clinical sales staff.
Establish a formal, ongoing communication plan for sharing clinical sales positioning with other clinical leaders in Health Solutions Group, SCS, UHC and Uniprise.
· Achievement of Board Certification in a medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
· Demonstrated experience in health care clinical management with at least 10 years experience
· Demonstrated ability to be customer facing and ability to develop tailored solutions
· Comprehensive knowledge of health care clinical management operations
· Ability to analyze and translate health care utilization, clinical, and financial data inot meaningful solutions
· Demonstrates decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
· Takes and manages risk - Establishes trust and credibility at all levels of the organization
· Possesses solid written and oral communication skills; articulates issues in a concise manner
· Effective interpersonal influence, collaboration and listening
