These native Alaskan Yupik people embrace and encourage family values and love their community. The Yupik people believe that their elders are to be respected and valued. Those that come to a place called Bethel, Alaska will also serve over 58 villages that span a territory the size of Oregon. Many of these villages still do not have running water. Fair Compensation
Compensation for your profession is market competitive: Low: $38.89 per hour to $48.61 per hour. Benefits are particularly good with extremely low co-pays for full health insurance. A single person pays just $10 bi-weekly, a family $30 bi-weekly. The retirement plan is also very good with a matching program in addition to a generous amount put in your retirement for each and every employee. We have sign-on/retention bonus for NP's/PA's at $7,500, payable at the end of employee's probationary period of 90 days, $10,000, payable at the end of year two, and $12,500, payable at the end of year three. A very competitive relocation package offered.
Eligibility for Loan Repayment up to $20,000.00 per Year
In order to help assist these underserved people, the Indian Health Services (IHS) has loan repayment programs available. Loan repayment is not guaranteed with offer of employment, as all employees must apply directly through Indian Health Services. Since this is not absolutely guaranteed, we ask that you do not make this program your sole reason to come work in Bethel. Instead, look at it as a potential added bonus for serving your fellow man. Opportunities for other scholarships through the National Health Services Corp. is also available for eligibility.

The Opportunity
Position Summary:
The Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner (PA, NP) shall be committed to contributing to the mission of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC), “to achieve the greatest possible improvement to the health status of the people of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital (YKDRH) of Alaska”. The PA, NP is an employee working under the supervision of the Medical Director who is in turn supervised by the Clinical Services Administrator. You will be responsible for educating community health aides, a very important position essential to the first line of health care for the surrounding villages.
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PA, NP must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Training Program and received and maintained certification. Two years minimum suggested experience level. Should have experience with reading radiographs and dispensing medication. Must have Alaska License and DEA license. Must have the computer skills needed to access computerized medical records. Needs the skills and knowledge to practice medicine in the area of their specialty. Ability to supervise and mentor NP and PA students and oversee community Health Aide clinical practice
Travelers: We are looking to develop our own pool of NP/PA's. We offer round trip transportation, lodging, and an excellent hourly rate. We will be at or above agency compensation.
