JOB DESCRIPTION

LVN position in a busy, patient oriented dermatology surgical center with great benefits and advancement potential.  Located in the Houston Medical Center.  Only extremely motivated need apply.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate surgeon’s interaction with patients by providing enthusiastic and effective patient care.  Serve as liaison between physician and patients and referring physicians.  Assist physician with operative procedures in office operating suite. Assist physician with patient care during clinic.  Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Current unencumbered Texas LVN license.  Ability to prioritize and work independently. Neat and professional appearance with a positive and congenial personality.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Assist physician with patient care in the treatment rooms.  Work closely with other nurses, office staff, and fellow to ensure smooth and efficient clinic. Perform preoperative evaluation and coordinate patient care with physician including postoperative care and compliance concerns. Document all patient care in medical records at the time of service. Monitor effectiveness, efficiency and overall operations of clinic and OR recommending and perform improvements as necessary. Maintain accurate and timely counts of all drugs and narcotics as required. Provide prescribed medicines to pharmacy for patients as directed by physician. Participate in regular meetings to discuss patient follow up. Perform all procedures and maintain treatment rooms and workstations in compliance with OSHA and any other legally required agency guidelines. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrate the ability to work with other staff members. Treat all patients, staff, and physicians with courtesy and respect. Adhere to all facility safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Ensure the proper use of office resources and keep work area neat and orderly. Ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Spend most of the day walking or standing. Ability to bend, reach, and lift approximately 20 lbs. Must be able to hear and speak clearly and read and write legibly.
