Imaging Tech Asst

Overview : This position will be working full time 12 hour shifts, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in Diagnostic Imaging.

Responsibilities :

Assists Technologists and Nurses in pre and post procedure room preparation by obtaining necessary supplies, preparing contrast media and assisting patients on and off exam tables. Organizes supplies needed for procedure per procedure protocol. Prepares oral or IV contrast per procedure protocol. Assists patients on and off exam tables. Transports or escorts patients in and our of exam rooms. Assists technologists and nurses with observation of patients. Sits with patients while techs or nurses are unavailable. Assists patients to restroom. Assists the technologist with clerical duties. Starting and completion of exams in the computer system. Retrieving patient files from File Room. Assembles films, film folders, exam labels and requisition. Turns in procedures for interpretation.
Assists the technologist with film processing and film processing equipment quality control. Processes films using conventional darkroom, daylight system, computed radiology system and laser system. Runs quality control checks on processing system. Performs patient transport duties. Transports patients to and from the units, ER, etc. via appropriate mode of transport. Stocks procedure rooms with linen and supplies. Maintains room's par level of linen. Maintains par level of clerical supplies.
Answers telephones and route messages. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications :

This position requires the applicant to have a high school diploma or its equivalent, be at least 18 years of age and speak, read and write English. Must be physically able to safely lift and move patients. Must have common sense and exercise good judgment, effectively communicate, use discretion with patients, staff and the general public. Must be CPR certified and have experience as a transporter and/or nursing assistant preferred.
