Patient Access Supervisor

Overview : Washakie Medical Center is a critical access hospital located in north central Wyoming at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, in the city of Worland. The hospital provides a full array of inpatient and outpatient health care services including a Level III trauma Center, state-of-the-art birthing suites, and a specialty clinic providing a wide range of care by visiting physicians.

The Patient Registration Supervisor provides leadership and guidance to the patient registration staff on a daily basis as well as interacts with clinical personnel, other departmental supervisors, controllers and their staff.

Responsibilities :

1. Manages the Admission/Discharge/Transfer computer system.

2. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of regulatory and accreditation requirements for government and third party agencies to ensure compliance and appropriate reimbursement.

3. Assists controller with the operations of the department.

4. Maintains quality management program and fosters development of performance improvement activities.

5. Audits timecards for errors, prepares monthly staff work schedules ensuring a smooth daily work flow of staff, ensuring a smooth daily work flow of staff.

6. Assumes the Controller's responsibilities in his/her absence in addition to assisting or leading special projects within patient registration; assisting with developing and administering financial objectives to ensure the viability of Banner Health.

Qualifications :

*Education/Experience:
BS in Accounting or Business preferred with minimum 2 years of patient registration, billing, related health care experience or customer service field.
Demonstrated skills in supervision, management, team building and interpersonal relations.

*Technical Skills:
Computerized ADT system experience, Microsoft Word, Excel knowledge.
Medical Terminology Proficiency.
Ability to prioritize and delegate numerous activities.
Ensure the accurate completion of all work while promoting a cooperative environment.
Ability to conduct accurate written and verbal business communication.
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.

*Other qualifications/certificate/license:
Participation in related professional organizations is highly desirable.
