DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Office of Planning and Budget at Arizona State University invites applications for a challenging mid level position involving highly accurate budget, planning and policy analysis. Under general supervision, and working in a team environment, the Fiscal Planning Analyst assists in the accomplishment of university and campus goals and objectives by offering analysis and evaluation of fiscal plans and performance outcomes. General examples of duties include assisting assigned organizations in the regular review of progress against established budgets; developing forecasts; evaluating key variances; developing, analyzing and preparing recommendations on internal policy, programming and fiscal planning initiatives; advising assigned campuses and organizational areas in the development of internal planning and budget requests to meet planning, budgeting and accountability requirements; developing reports based on research, analysis and evaluation of data pertaining to specific projects, conditions or proposals; and working with funding recommendations from the Governor's office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLRC).

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience in policy analysis, program and fiscal planning and budget development; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience formulating objective policy, programming and funding recommendations. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in the use of a personal computer and word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or graphics software applications. Experience in process improvement techniques and concepts. Experience working in a team environment.
