Senior Policy Manager

This position will assist in developing and implementing a strategic policy approach focused on 10 regional Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, (CMS), that integrates all key stakeholders including consumers, government officials, providers, payors, medical associations, patient groups and special interest groups in support of specific pharmaceutical products and the general portfolio. Responsibilities will include analyzing the impact of policy, regulations and services, and proactively initiating and implementing solutions in concert with Abbott's Government Affairs team, working with medical and patient advocacy groups to optimize patient access to innovative products and therapies, strategizing regarding the value propositions and pharmacoeconomics and their impact on public payors, and devising and delivering the policy message to various stakeholders, especially the regional CMS offices.

Qualifications
Candidates should have foundational understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, payors and the legislative process. Strong background in policy and legislative analysis and strategic implementation of tactical solutions and responses. Must be able to operate in a team situation and cultivate relationships. Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrated strategic thinking and attention to planning and execution a must. Pharmaceutical marketing experience preferred. Presentation skills extremely beneficial. Proven ability to examine pharmaceutical environment and develop/execute in response to market opportunities will be of significant benefit. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree strongly preferred.
