We have an excellent opportunity for an Account Strategy Manager, Managed Markets at our corporate headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL.

 

You will perform the following functions in this key role:Provide the broadest access while maintaining the greatest margin, gross to net, possible making product tradeoffs if necessary in assigned geography. Responsible for understanding all product brand strategies and subsequent contracting guidelines that will form the basis of creating account plans with the field and business case for all account contracts. Drive the contracting process for all assigned accounts, at least the top 10, in a specific assigned region. Support managed markets field sales including ADs, RAMs and NAMs depending on assignment. Ensure coordinated analysis and all appropriate department reviews (e.g. legal, contracting, market analytics and others) are consulted, as needed for contract development.Build individual business cases supporting contracting recommendations and delivers package to contracting for final execution.Understand the overall brand strategy and objectives to meet P&L objectives as this will drive account strategy, account discount planning/exceptions to overall contracting guidelines.Develop/synthesize analytics with SMAR across all assigned area plans.  Analyses include but are limited to, historical plan performance, comparison to similar plans,  copay impact and co pay breakpoint that drives patients away for RX, claim rejections, spillover, market share increases vs. rebate across different payor segments to generate account insight for future contracting exercises.Drive strategic alignment across region of public and private payor initiatives to support brand objectives in payor markets. Construct overall account plans with AD and RAM. Perform all analytics/create final business case package to support rebate recommendation.Move account contract through contracting process ensuring efficient flow and tracks timeline to completion.  Responsible for contract review at appropriate times with legal, finance and contracting.Identify contracts outside guidelines to MM sales/marketing management. Provide recommendation and provide appropriate analysis and backup to support.

 



You must possess the following requirements and experience to succeed in this position: BA/BS degree required. Advanced degree or equivalent experience in account management, contracting, licensing or finance preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant analytical, contracting, market research, managed markets, or related healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience required.  Understanding of managed care including health plan design, reimbursement and claims adjudication processes, formulary decision making process and contracting analysis. Require competencies in leadership, financial aptitude, analytical ability, deciveness, and negotiation ability and communication skills Drive strategic alignment across region of public and private payor initiatives to support brand objectives in payor markets.
