Effectively manage the overall activities for area of responsibility. Provide direction on day-to-day responsibilities, plan the team's work activities, and address potential challenges to the team meeting its objectives.
- Formulate department objectives / goals.
- Ensure department members understand the objectives and their role in meeting those objectives. Address activities that are inconsistent with those objectives.
- Ensure department objectives / goals are consistent with Company goals. Identify and communicate linkage of department goals with Company goals.
- Track the department's progress in meeting established objectives and take appropriate actions to ensure objectives are met.

2. Provide leadership for staff. Provide staff with a consistent and well thought out direction. Instill ownership and accountability into each position. Model expected work ethic, professionalism, customer service, and ownership.

3. Ensure continuous staff development; teach, mentor, coach, and council. Provide staff with growth opportunities. Provide staff with continuous and timely performance feedback. Recruit and select the best talent and fit to fill open positions.

4. Plan work and resources effectively to ensure department output is of high quality and meets or exceeds deadlines. Constantly prioritize responsibilities and dynamically apply resources.

5. Monitor customer satisfaction and identify service issues. Work with customers, department members, and external department resources to meet customer requirements.
