Patient Safety Dir

Overview : The position has responsibility to oversee the facility-wide Patient Safety Program. Coordinates efforts to establish and maintain a clinical environment focused on improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients, staff and physicians. Responsible for identifying the facility adherence to best practices and/or guidelines related to patient safety. Adopts a non-punitive approach to medical error reporting. Provides program and plans for improvement that are measurable in quantitative and qualitative terms. Works with all levels of staff to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications :

Requires current nursing license in the State of Arizona, and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, advanced degree preferred. Previous significant (5 years) nursing experience. Must possess good organizational and computer skills. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with all levels of Banner Health staff.
