Description
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, supplies air brake charging and control systems and components for wheel-end and electronic braking systems, integrated vehicle modules and leading-edge safety technologies under the Bendix® brand name for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, buses and other commercial vehicles in North America, Europe and Australia.
The General Manager position will be responsible for a 40 million dollar Operations Facility in Fresno, CA
This position insures that adequate plans for future development and growth of the business are prepared, and participates in their preparation; periodically present such plans for general review and approval by the Board of Directors. Presents proposed operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
Major Job Duties:
Achieve company business plan and goals & objectives.
Measures and reviews the companys performance and reports performance to the Board of Directors.
Establishes annual budget guidelines. Reviews and approves annual plans prepared by the general Managers, including operating budgets, staffing plans, marketing plans, and capital expenditures.
Develops the basic objectives, policies, and operating plans of the business; submits these to the Board of Directors for approval. Insures that organizational policies are uniformly understood and properly interpreted and administered by subordinates; reviews and approves proposed internal policies of subordinate functions.
Ensures all systems are functioning as required to meet all customer needs (i.e. sales, operations, finance, and administration)
Professionally represents the organization in its relationships with major customers, suppliers, competitors, commercial and investment bankers, government agencies, professional societies, and similar groups.
Ability to run business separate from the parent owner as a stand alone business.
Manage sub-function managers as direct reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in proven leadership skills a must.
Ability to project manage and support multiple priorities required.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter who possesses the knowledge and experience to run a small to medium size manufacturing environment with the responsibilities of the day-to-day functionality of the facility.
Flexibility to work in a diverse environment with various personalities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization are required.
Strong ability to analyze business issues, develop corrective actions and follow through to completion
Total commitment to team philosophy, a team player in every respect.
Required Skills
Bachelor degree required, MBA degree preferred
Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish)
Travel requirements = 25%
