Water Resources Planner

Job
Planner position responsible for providing assistance on a variety of federal, state, and municipal project. Project areas include stormwater NPDES permit compliance, watershed planning, stormwater funding studies, public education and outreach, stormwater program and ordinance development, water supply planning, floodplain management, and strategic planning.

Accountabilities
Serve as part of a larger planning team for a wide range of water resources projects.
Assist in AMEC’s marketing and water resources program development efforts, including making presentations at regional and national conferences.
Provide support to business development through developing client relationships.
Assist with responses to requests for proposals.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, political science, public administration, environmental science, or natural resource management. Master’s degree a plus.
Entry level position. Experience is not required, but is a plus.
Knowledge of federal/state water quality (TMDLs, Chesapeake Bay, NPDES) and flood control programs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with group facilitation processes.
Familiarity with strategic planning.
