Responsible for assuring the site/organization is in compliance with all local, state, federal and company regulatory standards and policies. Responsible for the management of all environmental, health, safety and security related processes and procedures for the site. Works with Division and Corporate resources to ensure all environmental, health, safety and security systems are maintained and improved. Utilizes a broad knowledge of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security practices, theories, principles and techniques to provide solutions to a wide variety of problems both routine and difficult. Capable of developing solutions utilizing in-depth data analysis and evaluation. Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures and programs. Personally conducts investigations of all safety and environmental outages, some requiring applications of new approaches in the field. Develops and conducts EHS training for employees. Manages the site security process for protection of personnel and assets. Acts as a technical resource for project teams, supervisors and other internal customers. Responsible for presentation of data to supervisors and internal customers. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in key responsibility areas. Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritional products. Ability to research in depth all EHS laws applicable to a bar manufacturing facility.
Qualifications
Three to six years experience in environmental, health and safety (EHS) required. Excellent working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and NFPA regulatory standards as well as California state and local EHS regulatory agencies. Ability to translate regulatory requirements into policies and procedures. Good presentation skills and/or group facilitation skills is required. Experience working health, safety, and environmental opportunities in a manufacturing organization producing FDA regulated products. Experience working with ergonomics in a manufacturing setting. Individual must possess demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral along with good interpersonal skills used in interacting, consulting and influencing employees and resources both internal and external to the company. Computer literate, capable of using all base programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as some advance computer knowledge (Access, etc.) would be desirable. Good project management skills and knowledge of related disciplines required. Certification (CIH,CSP,CHP,etc.) is desirable, but not required.
Four-year college degree in safety, health, environmental sciences or related disciplines (engineering with a consecration in environmental, industrial hygiene, safety, etc.)
