Chemical Plant Health & Safety Specialist

  Our client is a global Specialty chemical company well known for their Performance Materials, Functional Chemicals  and the Organics and Services areas.  This client is committed to sustainable development in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol.

  They are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to support their two southern California facilities, both in the Los Angeles area.  Duties will range from risk assessment, industrial hygiene and emergency response especially for life critical procedures.  The goal will be to make Health and Safety procedures integral to all aspects of the plants activities.

 

  Requirements:

- BS in Safety or CSP

- 5+ yrs. relevant (hands on) experience in a chemical manufacturing setting

- HSE management system experience - procedures, permitting, accident/ incident investigations, mitigation through root cause analysis, assessment of risks and hazards

- Good Leadership skills to include partnering with plant management in implementation of Health and Safety procedures.

 

Must live in, or be willing to relocate to  the Los Angeles metropolitan area at your own expense.  Client will not relocate.
