Business Development

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility to develop and grow private sector environmental and/or management consulting business in the greater Huntsville region for the Tetra Tech EM Inc. Candidate will work with the Nashville, Tennessee Operations Manager and the Huntsville, Alabama (Tt-Inc. Civil/Structural Engineering Regional Manager), and in cooperation with other Tetra Tech EM Inc. regional offices, to develop and implement business strategies, set annual marketing budgets, and position and prepare for bidding opportunities, to meet stated business metric goals. The successful candidate will also act as the project or program manager and main client contact for any work attained.

Experiences Requirements:
The candidate must have 8 or more years experience in developing private sector business for an environmental consulting firm, with recent contacts in the Northern Alabama and Southern Tennessee region. High-end consulting experience in more than one environmental area is desirable. Must demonstrate the ability to attract and retain private sector clients in the greater Huntsville region, and build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor and ROI over time. Must also possess program and project management capabilities and experience to effectively balance direct and indirect utilization rates.

Skills Required:
High level of written and oral communication skills. Working experience on Microsoft Office 2000 suite, including web-based information collection skills. Ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels and disciplines. Experience in recruiting, screening and hiring skilled personnel a plus.

Education Requirements:
A BA, BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or geologic sciences. A BA, MA, or MBA in business administration with relevant experience in the environmental field is also acceptable.
