Senior Safety Engineer

We are working with a client who is the "leader" in it's industry. They are a company with a positive reputation in their community. The client is placing a MAJOR emphasis on Plant and Employee Safety. We are assisting them in their search for a Senior Safety Engineer. We are looking for a "doer." The successful candidate must be a "take charge" type of person who can work well with groups and assume a "leader/facilitator" type role. This person needs to be a self-directed person, not someone who needs to be led.  In other words, we need someone who can be a "change agent." Candidates must have proven experience in heavy manufacturing safety issues. We need a "hands-on, roll up your sleeves" Safety Engineer; someone who has vision and understands issues, but can also be detailed and, is good at "following through."  Candidates who come from a Military background--who can be self reliant are always welcome.  If candidates come from a CASTING or FOUNDRY environment it would be a plus.  Experience in Safety training would be a plus.  Candidates must be degreed (a degree in Safety or related would be a plus.) Candidates should have approximately 5 to 10  or more years of proven professionalism in the Safety field. A CIH and/or CSP is required, any exposure to "Dupont's" safety program would be a plus. This position will report directly to theVice President/General Manager and will have the type of exposure an aggressive Safety professional seeks.

Requirements are:

1)  BS with a degree in Safety or related field preferred.

2)  5 to10 years of "progressive" growth and command leadership in the Safety and Health field.

3)  CSP and/or CIH is required
