Packaging Engineer Electrical Systems

Waukesha client seeks a Packaging Engineer.

Convert concepts to functional designs/drawings that vendors can use to create prototypes.
Develop testing strategies, for new components, to ensure product integrity.
As a member of a project team, contribute the mechanical packaging requirements of the system.
Perform thermal and airflow analysis on proposed solutions.
Provide engineering assistance in the resolution for technical problems relating to production, tooling, vendor escalation, testing, etc.
Assist manufacturing in the creation of special drawings and assembly sequences for production and prototype units.
Assist in the maintenance of existing products as updates become available.
Participate on development teams consisting of internal and external customers.
Establish schedules and perform regular monitoring of projects with external vendors.
Convert 3D and 2D drawings back and forth as required by internal and external customers.
Work with suppliers to communicate design requirements, coordinate prototype part fabrication, and root cause quality issues.


Experience using AutoCad (preferred) or similar 2D CAD software
Basic understanding of electronic packaging principles
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Must be able to work independently and become proficient in job related SW packages

Preferred:
Experience with mechanical testing strategies (drop, vibration, shock, etc)
Exposure to HALT and HAST testing concepts
Familiarity with design of experiment methodologies




Experience using AutoCad (preferred) or similar 2D CAD software

Must be able to work independently and become proficient in job related SW packages

Experience with establishing revision control methods
Experience with acoustic designs and regulatory agency approvals (UL, CSA, CE, etc.)
