Facilities Maintenance Manager
Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is part of the Operation management team and shall organize and maintain the plant, its machinery, tools, equipment and associated services, like ware housing and internal transportation, in such a manner that the production unit can carry out umbilical manufacturing, termination, testing and load-out safely and in a rational and cost effective way.
Principle Responsibility:
The Manager shall develop the function in line with the Objectives and shall prepare the required Procedures and Work Instructions that are deemed necessary to achieve this. Meeting the Objectives will require a proactive attitude where liaising and cooperation with the other organizational functions are of the greatest importance for the success of the Operation. The Manager shall work closely with the Production Manager and the Project Managers in order to understand and react to production and project needs and is authorized to take such steps as are deemed necessary for meeting the Operations and individual Project goals, all within applicable budgets and procedures. The Manager shall assist the Production Manager with personnel and equipment during rigging of the bundling machine, termination, testing and load out. The Manager shall liaise with the Procurement Agent in matters related to warehousing and procurement.
Main Functions:
1. Establish and maintain a system for periodic maintenance of the plant and equipment.
2. Recommend operational spares.
3. Carry out periodic maintenance in accordance with agreed maintenance program.
4. Carry out repairs as required.
5. Establish and maintain a system for registration, organization and distribution of equipment and tools.
6. Assure availability of equipment and tools to meet production demands.
7. Operate the warehouse function in accordance with established procedures with respect to materials receiving and inspection, storage, release and record keeping.
8. Liaise with projects and shipping agents regarding material ETAs, custom clearance and transportation to site.
9. Planning of storage area in order to avoid double handling. This applies especially to receiving of reels.
10. Maintain adequate stock of manufacturing consumables in cooperation with the Procurement Agent.
11. Call-off of manufacturing bulk materials like PE in accordance with manufacturing needs and established frame agreements.
12. Provide adequate and safe storage of chemicals and maintain files for fluid datasheets.
13. Plan and provide all internal transportation. This includes the use of special lifting equipment etc.
14. Deliver all production reels (tubes, cables and PVC profiles) to manufacturing in accordance with production demands.
15. Ship production reels back to suppliers.
16.Initiate, agree and prepare termination and testing plot-plans for each project with the Production Manager and the QC/HES Supervisor. The plot-plan shall be accompanied by a list of the project termination parts, fluids; equipment; tools and consumables required for execution of the work and shall address safety issues and describe the safety measures that will be taken.
17. Mobilize and rig for termination and testing in accordance with the above.
18. Demobilize when termination and testing are completed
19. Check and service all equipment after use. Special attention shall be given to pumps, manifolds, hoses and fittings.
20. Plan and mobilize for load-out including spooling onto transportation reels.
21. Assist the production function during load-out.
22. Demobilize when load-out operation is completed.
23. Propose cost effective improvements to the facility, its equipment and operational processes.
24. Prepare budgets fore the above in cooperation with the Cost Controller.
25. Organize and carry out all agreed improvements to the facility and the equipment.
26. Participate in Management Meetings.
27. Participate in production planning meetings.
28. Participate in Project Meetings as required.
29. Prepare the functions annual budget and its distribution per month in cooperation with the Cost Controller
30. Monitor and report budget status monthly in cooperation with the Cost Controller.
31. Plan and maintain adequate manning level for running the function and for supporting manufacturing in line with the Operations order back log and strategic goals.
32. Assure the highest standard of house keeping. This implies that the function is responsible for the physical appearance of the plant, even tough it is the responsibility of the individual employees to keep their work station clean.

EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should have minimum of 10 years of experience as Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Engineer in production facilities, using a formal maintenance management system. Experience in SAP a plus. Knowledge and experience in automation and controls is preffered Computer skills, including experience working with MS Word and Excel, Primavera and computerized maintenance systems. Experience in predictive & preventive maintenance is required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Skills required include but not limited to: reading instructions/procedures, reading project drawings, report writing, log book writing, visual assessment of surroundings, excellent communication skills, use of hand and electric tools. Knowledge required but not limited to: understanding OSHA regulations, ISO 9001:2000 requirements, company organization structure, knowledge of dangers associated with heavy moving equipment and machinery, ability to understand procedures/JSAs/work instructions. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage hourly personnel and Project Management and engineering. Ability to use an analytical approach to problem solving and establish workable and efficient solutions.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 10 years prior experience.
