Shell Oil Products US is currently seeking a Process Engineer – Projects for its Los Angeles, California location.
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for providing process engineering expertise in the justification, development, and implementation of projects to improve safety and environmental performance, reliability, and profitability within the Los Angeles Refinery (LAR). In addition, you may conduct special studies and provide supplemental production support to the refinery. Key Accountabilities Include: - Assisting in developing and refining project business cases - Developing process design basis for projects - Developing conceptual process designs and alternatives with recommendations or leading contractors in this effort - Developing detailed process design utilizing company / industry standards or provide overview and technical assurance of contractors work product - Performing economic evaluation of projects and updating as developments warrant - Coordinating process engineering interface with Shell Global Solutions for relevant projects/studies - Coordinating process engineering activities / support during construction and startup - Supporting project engineering in developing project scope, cost, schedule, and execution strategy - Ensuring appropriate input and consultation obtained from customers/stakeholders, technical, and business organizations to ensure projects are fit for purpose - Supporting preparation of investment proposals and project reviews for Downstream One investment committees - Leading Management of Change activities for project including PSSRs, Safeguarding, ESP reviews, and PHAs - Ensuring appropriate environmental review and permitting of projects - Conducting special studies or evaluations within the refinery as identified - Providing supplemental production support as necessary
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and have approximately 5 or more years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Previous project and/or production support experience is preferred.
