Position Description:

Chevron Global Downstream – Refining (GDREF) is accepting online applications for the position of Instrument Reliability Analyst (0610-50164750) located in Richmond, California through November 2, 2006.



Qualifications:

POSITION DETAILS:
Instrument Reliability Analyst provides reliability service to all operating plants in the Richmond Refinery by providing the following:
- Incident investigation and failure analysis.
- Reliability and constructability review of new projects and equipment.
- Establish technically correct PMs, PdMs and operator duties using streamlined RCM process.
- Documentation of maintenance activities and failures that affect plant availability.
- Analysis of repeat equipment failures and work with operations, maintenance and technical to implement solutions to resolve.
- Prepare timely recommendations for the turnaround work process.
- Safe and reliable operating condition of ICA&E Equipment in the refinery.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- In lieu of degree, 5 years relevant working experience will be considered.
- Relocation benefits will not be considered.
- This is a safety sensitive position.

Technical abilities: Existing equipment design, operation, and maintenance experience. Understands and can implement reliability principles, statistical process control, surveillance, protection, design review, quality control/assurance, and record keeping.

Five years of Instrument experience in a refinery or chemical plant. The candidate must be familiar with applicable codes and regulations pertaining to instrumentation and electrical construction. This includes the national electric code, and maintenance practices.

Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems. Candidate must have good problem solving skills including failure analysis and incident investigation skills.
