BP's Supply and Trading activities were brought together in our Integrated Supply and Trading division (IST), formed in 2001. IST's role in the Group is to enhance performance and maximize value for BP's Assets through the disciplined application of Supply and Trading insights and techniques. IST actively manages the links between Assets and across Supply Chains, contributing to distinctiveness and competitive advantage for BP.


Our expertise and reputation is built around our people, systems and information flows. We operate across all BP's businesses, touching 60-65% of the Group's turnover, providing the commercial face of BP to the traded commodity and financial markets.


IST Oil Americas handles the Supply and Trading activities for BP's Oil and Chemical businesses in the Americas. The Regional Business and majority of our 700+ staff are headquartered in Warrenville, Illinois, with a material presence in offices in La Palma, California; Houston, Texas; and Calgary, Canada. Our teams work closely with the BP Business Units in Refining and Marketing and Exploration and Production.


BP Coke operates as a turnkey business with Financial Services, Technical Services, Sales and Marketing, Logistic Services, as well as departments within the team. BP Coke supports full Supply Chain Management for the "bottom-of-the-barrel" Coke product line. BP Coke services IST and Refining to create crude Trading & Supply space while maintaining sustainable Supply Chain product line margins. BP Coke creates "added value" service offerings to customers that enable forward integration into our customer businesses to occur.


The Coke Services Coordinator is part of the Technical Services team within BP Coke. This team coordinates the technical support (quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and operational), as well as direct communications to both BP refining/calcining production facilities and customer-end users. The team engages both internal and external specialists/suppliers for support and operates a complete laboratory, which includes both pilot plant and analytical operations at its Anaheim facility. 


Accountabilities Include:

Optimize value realization for the varying quality of Green Coke produced at the BP refineries through efficient utilization of logistics assets and segregation of different quality Cokes produced.
Manage day-to-day logistics operations for Calcined Coke Blending to meet customer specification at our Longview and Rotterdam storage facilities.
Progress and manage capital improvement projects at our logistics sites that add value and/or reduce operating expenses.
Support Coke Marketing Health, Safety, Security and Environment Compliance at the Anaheim location and associated logistics operations.
Provide detailed technical and QA support to Calcined Coke production operations at Cherry Point, Wilmington, Lingen and Gelchenkirchen.
Collect and monitor site production quality data for quality assurance, in support of the sales and marketing agenda.
Provide the BP Technical Services Manager assistance in support of highly valued anode Coke customers in the aluminum industry.
Help develop and review Coke Laboratory tests and procedures in support of overall Coke QA agenda.
Support the BP Refining Crude selection process by managing the impact Crude slate changes have on Coke production.


Required Qualifications: 
To be considered for the role of Coke Services Coordinator applicants must have:

The ability to use spreadsheets (Excel) and develop presentations (PowerPoint).
The ability to take the lead when challenges occur.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
A minimum of 5 years of related experience in Refining, Calcining, Operations and/or Supply.
The ability to actively seek out know-how and best practice, related to own area of contribution.
A passionate dedication to the team environment and be adaptable to a rapidly changing business environment.
Strong communication and personal skills with individuals at all organizational levels.
The ability to apply analytical thinking to complex problems and provide solutions, while meeting challenging time commitments.
Self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to undergo periodic self-review to assess priorities and effectiveness of performance.
Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.


Preferred Qualifications: 
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Sciences.
The willingness and ability to relocate to or commute on a daily basis to Anaheim, California.
