Mechanical Designer - Lead

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Designer to join the Artesyn team at our Madison, WI facility.


Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the mechanical design for the Systems Pipe. Provide mechanical design requirements for products in the Systems Pipe. Perform coordination and technical review of other mechanical design resources (either internal or third party) related to efforts on system level products.

Position Responsibilities:
•Review and interpretation of mechanical specifications and standards.
•Generation of mechanical requirements.
•Coordination of other mechanical design resources and provide technical review of their work.
•Uses CAD tools to design and produce required drawings for chassis, cables, PCB fabrication, front panels, silkscreens, packaging, etc.
•Produces drawings for engineering documentation, including assembly notes, product manuals, etc.
•Qualifies mechanical components.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD) with a mechanical emphasis. Must be proficient in the use of PCs. 5 years of drafting experience (AutoCAD preferred), and 1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience. Requires advanced level of mechanical skills and the ability to apply drafting techniques and the knowledge of practical, mechanical, and fabrication problems. Must be able to budget time among several tasks. Good communication skills are also important.
